With a touch of infinite calm | J |

It quieted pain and sorrow | K |
Like love overcoming strife | L |
It seemed the harmonious echo | K |
From our discordant life | L |

Into one perfect peace | N |
And trembled away into silence | O |
As if it were loth to cease | N |

I have sought but I seek it vainly | C |
That one lost chord divine | P |
Which came from the soul of the Organ | A |
And entered into mine | P |

It may be that Death's bright angel | Q |
Will speak in that chord again | E |
It may be that only in Heaven | A |
