Up here in the cold thin air
I finally can breathe
I know I left a life behind
But I'm too relived to grieve.
Standing frozen in the life I've chosen
Do what? Fight me?
The past is right behind me
Buried in the sands.
I won't be silenced
You can't keep me quiet
Won't tremble when you try it
All I know is that I won't go speechless.
I can hear you but I won't
I can feel you but I won't
Some look for trouble but others don't
But you do.
There is a thousand reason
To go about my day
And ignore your whispers
Which I wish would go away.
You're not a voice
You're a just a ringing in my ear
And if I heard you, which I don't
I would be in pain.
Everyone I've ever loved
Is here within the walls
I'm sorry but I'm blocking out your calls
I've had my adventure, I dont need something new
I'm afraid of what I'm risking if I follow you
What do you want?
Cause you have been keeping me awake
What do you need?
Are you here to distract me?
So I make a big mistake?
Or are you someone out there
Who is a little bit like me?
Who knows deep down
I'm not where I'm meant to be
Everyday is a little harder
As I feel myself change
Dont you know there is a part of me
That longs to go
Back to the old way
To the unknown
Are you out there?
Do you know me?
Can you feel me?
Can you show me?
Where are you going?
Don't leave me alone
How do I follow you?
Into the better bigger life.
