Wasted Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECFE

Each day another soldier in the vanA
Each day a new young worker in the fieldsB
And every day more plenteous harvest yieldsB
From human toil to bless and not to banA
A better world upon a better planA
And daily strengthening the arms he wieldsB
And more disdainful of old shifts and shieldsB
An ever nobler and diviner ManA
-
But oh how few the saved how small the gainC
How poor the profit as against the costD
The waste of life potential vast and fairE
In soul unfructified and starveling brainC
Of Power that might have been and might be lostF
For want of common food and common airE
