Vows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAAAAA CCCCDD

Nay ask me not I would not dare pretendA
To constant passion and a life long trustB
They will desert thee if indeed they mustB
How can we guess what Destiny will sendA
Smiles of fair fortune or black storms to rendA
What even now is shaken by a gustA
The fire will burn or it will die in dustA
We cannot tell until the final endA
-
And never vow was forged that could confineC
Aught but the body of the thing whereonC
Its pledge was stamped The inner soul divineC
That thinks of going is already goneC
When faith and love need bolts upon the doorD
Faith is not faith and love abides no moreD
