The Dawn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKDK LJMJ NOLO

All the wild waves rock'd in shadowA
And the world was dim and greyB
Dark and silent hush'd and breathlessC
Waiting calmly for the dayB
-
And the golden light came stealingD
O'er the mountain tops at lastE
Flooding vale and wood and uplandF
It was morning night was pastE
-
There they lay the silvery watersG
Fruitful forests glade and lawnH
All in beauty new createdI
By the angel of the dawnH
-
-
So my spirit slept in twilightJ
All was quiet grey and stillK
Till the dawn of Love came stealingD
Over Hope's snow crested hillK
-
Then the dim world woke in gloryL
And the iris dyes grew brightJ
On the waves and woods and valleysM
In a morning flood of lightJ
-
Ah the vineyards and the gardensN
Ah the treasures rich and rareO
Full of endless life and beautyL
Which that dawn created thereO
