London Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABBA DEDEFF

The gorgeous stream of England's wealth goes byA
Mixed with the mud and refuse as of oldB
The hungry homeless naked sick and coldB
Want mocked by waste and greedy luxuryC
There in their downy carriage cushions lieA
Proud women whose fair bodies have been soldB
And bought for coronet or merchant goldB
For whose base splendours envious maidens sighA
-
Some day the social ban will fall on themD
On wanton rich who taunt their starving kinE
Some day the social judgment will condemnD
These wedded harlots in their shame and sinE
A juster world shall separate them thenF
From all pure women and all honoured menF
