Learn learn learnA
Our beautiful world is not a field for sheepB
Not just a place wherein to laugh and weepB
To eat and drink to dance and sigh and sleepB
And then to moulder into senseless dustC
-
Learn learn learnA
Look up and learn you cannot look too highD
Not for the earthly wealth which brains can buyD
Not for the sake of gold and luxuryE
Treasures corrupted by the moth and rustC
-
Learn learn learnA
As one in whom the Lord has breathed His breathF
And aye redeem d from the power of deathF
Not as the dumb brute beast that perishethF
Not as a soulless thoughtless thankless clodC
-
Learn learn learnA
With love and awe and patience not in hasteC
Drink deeply do not pass by with a tasteC
O make your land a garden not a wasteC
Your mind bright to reflect the face of GodC
-
Learn learn learnA
The mystic beauty and the truth of lifeG
Search out the treasures whereof earth is rifeG
Search on all sides with pain and prayer and strifeG
Search even into darkness Do not fearH
-
Learn learn learnA
With a true steadfast heart lay up your hoardC
God will sort out the treasures you have storedC
And set them in His bright light afterwardC
He will make all your difficulties clearH
-
Learn learn learnA
Death is no breaking at a certain placeI
We only pause there for a little spaceI
And then you would not shame Him to His faceI
You in His Image and own Likeness madeC
-
Learn learn learnA
Walk with wide open eyes and reverent heartC
Worship as God the beautiful in artC
Though you see now but dimly and in partC
All shall be clear in time Be not afraidC
