Faith Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABBA DEDEFF

And is the great cause lost beyond recallA
nbsp nbsp nbsp Have all the hopes of ages come to naughtB
nbsp nbsp nbsp Is life no more with noble meaning fraughtB
Is life but death and love its funeral pallC
Maybe And still on bended knees I fallA
nbsp nbsp nbsp Filled with a faith no preacher ever taughtB
nbsp nbsp nbsp O God MY God by no false prophet wroughtB
I believe still in despite of it allA
-
Let go the myths and creeds of groping menD
nbsp nbsp nbsp This clay knows naught the Potter understandsE
I own that Power divine beyond my kenD
nbsp nbsp nbsp And still can leave me in His shaping handsE
But O my God that madest me to feelF
Forgive the anguish of the turning wheelF
