An Answer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDEE

Thy love I am Thy wife I cannot beA
To wear the yoke of servitude to takeB
Strange unknown fetters that I cannot breakB
On soul and flesh that should be mine and freeA
Better the woman's old disgrace for meA
Than this old sin this deep and dire mistakeB
Better for truth and honour and thy sakeB
For the pure faith I give and take from theeA
-
I know thy love and love thee all I canC
I fain would love thee only till I dieD
But I may some day love a better manC
And thou may'st find a fitter mate than ID
Some want some chill may steal 'twixt heart and heartE
And then we must be free to kiss and partE
