A Sigh In The Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

O sweet darkness still and calm and lonelyA
Spread thy downy pinions round aboutB
Spare me from thy hidden riches onlyA
One dream face blot all the others outB
-
Bring him now for thou hast power to free himC
From that ugly garb he wears by dayD
Bring him now my darling let me see himC
Ere the tender kindness pass awayD
-
O sweet night winds wandering in the larchesE
Sigh and croon and whisper as you creepF
Sing my songs through green cathedral archesE
While the weary workers are asleepF
-
Snarl and fret not of the grief and passionG
Sing in minor cadence sweet and lowH
Sing of peace and rest in soft wind fashionG
Of the love and faith I used to knowH
