The Thraldom Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHIJJ KLKKMM NOBBPPP

I came I saw and was undoneA
Lightning did through my bones and marrow runA
A pointed pain pierc'd deep my heartB
A swift cold trembling seiz'd on every partB
My head turn'd round nor could it bearC
The poison that was enter'd thereC
-
So a destroying angel's breathD
Blows in the plague and with it hasty deathD
Such was the pain did so beginE
To the poor wretch when Legion enter'd inE
'Forgive me God ' I cry'd for IF
Flatter'd myself I was to dieF
-
But quickly to my cost I foundG
'T was cruel Love not Death had made the woundG
Death a more generous rage does useH
Quarter to all he conquers does refuseI
Whilst Love with barbarous mercy savesJ
The vanquish'd lives to make them slavesJ
-
I am thy slave then let me knowK
Hard master the great task I have to doL
Who pride and scorn do undergoK
In tempests and rough seas thy galleys rowK
They pant and groan and sigh but findM
Their sighs increase the angry windM
-
Like an Egyptian tyrant someN
Thou weariest out in building but a tombO
Others with sad and tedious artB
Labour i' th' quarries of a stony heartB
Of all the works thou dost assignP
To all the several slaves of thineP
Employ me mighty Love to dig the mineP
