Drinking Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEFFGGHHIIJJKKKK

The thirsty earth soaks up the rainA
And drinks and gapes for drink againB
The plants suck in the earth and areC
With constant drinking fresh and fairD
The sea itself which one would thinkE
Should have but little need of drinkE
Drinks twice ten thousand rivers upF
So fill'd that they o'erflow the cupF
The busy Sun and one would guessG
By 's drunken fiery face no lessG
Drinks up the sea and when he's doneH
The Moon and Stars drink up the SunH
They drink and dance by their own lightI
They drink and revel all the nightI
Nothing in Nature's sober foundJ
But an eternal health goes roundJ
Fill up the bowl then fill it highK
Fill all the glasses there for whyK
Should every creature drink but IK
Why man of morals tell me whyK
