anything properly
I stutter at the heels
of a foreign Adam
I cannot pronounce the s
in verbs well because
they move too much
verbs swim and slither
whereas I am stone:
it's a speech defect
that's existential

Poet's note: This poem is a relic of a tiny confusion that could not be expressed well when my lover asked me to explain my silence. At that point, I became afraid of being lost in myself. This poem means a kind of relief from my fear of words.
