Existential Speech Defect

Confusion cannot name
anything properly

I stutter at the heels
of a foreign Adam

I cannot pronounce the s
in verbs well because
they move too much

verbs swim and slither
whereas I am stone:

it's a speech defect
that's existential

Poet's note: This poem is a relic of a tiny confusion that could not be expressed well when my lover asked me to explain my silence. At that point, I became afraid of being lost in myself. This poem means a kind of relief from my fear of words.
