Westward On The High-hilled Plains Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

Westward on the high hilled plainsA
Where for me the world beganB
Still I think in newer veinsA
Frets the changeless blood of manB
-
Now that other lads than IC
Strip to bathe on Severn shoreD
They no help for all they tryC
Tread the mill I trod beforeD
-
There when hueless is the westE
And the darkness hushes wideF
Where the lad lies down to restE
Stands the troubled dream besideF
-
There on thoughts that once were mineG
Day looks down the eastern steepH
And the youth at morning shineG
Makes the vow he will not keepH
