This Time Of Year A Twelvemonth Past Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH

This time of year a twelvemonth pastA
When Fred and I would meetB
We needs must jangle till at lastA
We fought and I was beatB
-
So then the summer fields aboutC
Till rainy days beganD
Rose Harland on her Sundays outC
Walked with the better manD
-
The better man she walks with stillE
Though now 'tis not with FredF
A lad that lives and has his willE
Is worth a dozen deadF
-
Fred keeps the house all kinds of weatherG
And clay's the house he keepsH
When Rose and I walk out togetherG
Stock still lies Fred and sleepsH
