Along The Field As We Came By Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEE FFGGHHIIJJ

Along the field as we came byA
A year ago my love and IA
The aspen over stile and stoneB
Was talking to itself aloneB
'Oh who are these that kiss and passC
A country lover and his lassC
Two lovers looking to be wedD
And time shall put them both to bedD
But she shall lie with earth aboveE
And he beside another loveE
-
And sure enough beneath the treeF
There walks another love with meF
And overhead the aspen heavesG
Its rainy sounding silver leavesG
And I spell nothing in their stirH
But now perhaps they speak to herH
And plain for her to understandI
They talk about a time at handI
When I shall sleep with clover cladJ
And she beside another ladJ
