| So aggressively you made my barren land your own | C |
| You took my dead trees and breathed life into them as you did me | D |
| You forced plants into my grounds | E |
| My grounds on which not even the lowest of creatures set foot | F |

| I floated around with my dead friends | H |
| Ghosts of memories I had long forgotten | I |
| And I was numb to life outside of my little jail | J |
| You came and brought the sun and its rays into my territory | D |
| It shone yellow and orange on my flesh and made it burn | K |

| My heart was a graveyard completely isolated | L |
| You entered and stripped me of my black sheath | M |
| And shaded me gold blended your colors into my pigments | N |
| Ever so gently you caressed my thighs the navy bruises | O |
| Faded with your milky touch | P |
| And for the first time I felt relief | Q |

| My heart was a graveyard and it was absolutely abandoned by me | D |
| But you filled my gates with love and affection | I |
| And when we rose we rose together | G |
| Phoenixes in our fire white flames erupting altogether | G |
| Glorious in the ashes of my rusted armor | G |

| I was a graveyard until I found gaiety in you | R |
| You studied me and I studied you | R |
| You looked at my face and memorized the lines in my hands and the calluses on my skin | S |
| The wrinkles on my pale lips you embedded into your fore brain | T |
| You left no inch of me undiscovered and I did the same for you | R |
| I took in your eyes and your pores | U |
| I absorbed your scent until it was all I could smell and hear | V |

Poet's note: I wrote this poem about all the good people i have in my life. It reflects a little bit of a gratitude I have for coming across such wonderful individuals. This poem is an encapsulation for the way they changed my life for the better. It is one of the most personal poems i have written so far.
