And yet excitement swells me vein by vein | D |
I long to crowd the little garden gain | D |
Its sweetness in my hand and crush it small | E |
And taste it in a moment time and all | E |
These trees whose slow growth measures off my years | F |
I would expand to greatness No one hears | G |
And I am still retarded in duress | H |
And this is like that other restlessness | I |
To seize the greatness not yet fairly earned | J |
One which the tougher poets have discerned | J |
