The Fable Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGHIJK

Beyond the steady rock the steady seaA
In movement more immovable than stationB
Gathers and washes and is gone It comesC
A slow obscure metonymy of motionB
Crumbling the inner barriers of the brainD
But the crossed rock braces the hills and makesE
A steady quiet of the steady musicF
Massive with peaceG
And listen nowH
The foam receding down the sand silversI
Between the grains thin pure as virgin wordsJ
Lending a sheen to Nothing whisperingK
