At The San Francisco Airport Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABA CDCDC EFEFE GHGHI JKJKJ

This is the terminal the lightA
Gives perfect vision false and hardB
The metal glitters deep and brightA
Great planes are waiting in the yardB
They are already in the nightA
-
And you are here beside me smallC
Containted and fragile and intentD
On things that I but half recallC
Yet going whither you are bentD
I am the past and that is allC
-
But you and I in part are oneE
The frightened brain the nervous willF
The knowledge of what must be doneE
The passion to acquire the skillF
To face that which you dare not shunE
-
The rain of matter upon senseG
Destroys me momently The scoreH
There comes what will come The expenseG
Is what one thought and something moreH
One's being and intelligenceI
-
This is the terminal the breakJ
Beyond this point on lines of airK
You take the way that you must takeJ
And I remain in light and stareK
In light and nothing else awakeJ
