An October Nocturne Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHIH

The night was faint and sheerA
Immobile road and duneB
Then for a moment clearA
A plane moved past the moonB
-
O spirit cool and frailC
Hung in the lunar fireD
Spun wire and brittle veilC
And tremblingly slowly higherD
-
Pure in each proven lineE
The balance and the aimF
Half empty half divineE
I saw how true you cameF
-
Dissevered from your causeG
Your function was your goalH
Oblivious of my lawsI
You made your calm patrolH
