Idol Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD DEFG HIJK LMNF OPQR HSGG TIUV WXYF Z

Down in the pine needlesA
in the snowstorm stogged ravineB
an Evenki idol standsC
fixing his eyes on the taigaD
-
Aggressively squintingD
he watched until the time cameE
when Evenki women startedF
hauling presents to himG
-
They brought him mukluks and parkasH
they brought him honey and furI
figuring that he'd prayJ
but mainly think for them allK
-
In the dark assuranceL
that he'd understandM
they'd smear his mouthN
with warm deer bloodF
-
But what could he do the phonyO
little godP
with his fierce woodenQ
whittled down soulR
-
Now he's looking through the branchesH
abandoned and deadS
No one believes in himG
no one prays to himG
-
Did I just dream this up At nightT
in his ravine far off yonderI
he sets his eyesU
on fire overgrown with mossV
-
And listening to the snowstormW
blast down licksX
his lips Lord I know itY
He wants bloodF
-
