To Toussaint L'ouverture Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEC

Toussaint the most unhappy man of menA
Whether the whistling Rustic tend his ploughB
Within thy hearing or thy head be nowB
Pillowed in some deep dungeon's earless denA
O miserable Chieftain where and whenA
Wilt thou find patience Yet die not do thouB
Wear rather in thy bonds a cheerful browB
Though fallen thyself never to rise againA
Live and take comfort Thou hast left behindC
Powers that will work for thee air earth and skiesD
There's not a breathing of the common windC
That will forget thee thou hast great alliesD
Thy friends are exultations agoniesE
And love and man's unconquerable mindC
