To Rotha Q...... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCCDEFDCC

Rotha my Spiritual Child this head was greyA
When at the sacred font for thee I stoodB
Pledged till thou reach the verge of womanhoodB
And shalt become thy own sufficient stayA
Too late I feel sweet Orphan was the dayA
For stedfast hope the contract to fulfilC
Yet shall my blessing hover o'er thee stillC
Embodied in the music of this LayC
Breathed forth beside the peaceful mountain StreamD
Whose murmur soothed thy languid Mother's earE
After her throes this Stream of name more dearF
Since thou dost bear it a memorial themeD
For others for thy future self a spellC
To summon fancies out of Time's dark cellC
