To ......, In Her Seventieth Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCADADEFFEAA

Such age how beautiful O Lady brightA
Whose mortal lineaments seem all refinedB
By favouring Nature and a saintly MindB
To something purer and more exquisiteC
Than flesh and blood whene'er thou meet'st my sightA
When I behold thy blanched unwithered cheekD
Thy temples fringed with locks of gleaming whiteA
And head that droops because the soul is meekD
Thee with the welcome Snowdrop I compareE
That child of winter prompting thoughts that climbF
From desolation toward the genial primeF
Or with the Moon conquering earth's misty airE
And filling more and more with crystal lightA
As pensive Evening deepens into nightA
