To I. F. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEFDGH

The star which comes at close of day to shineA
More heavenly bright than when it leads the mornB
Is friendship's emblem whether the forlornB
She visiteth or shedding light benignA
Through shades that solemnize Life's calm declineA
Doth make the happy happier This have weC
Learnt Isabel from thy societyC
Which now we too unwillingly resignA
Though for brief absence But farewell the pageD
Glimmers before my sight through thankful tearsE
Such as start forth not seldom to approveF
Our truth when we old yet unchilled by ageD
Call thee though known but for a few fleet yearsG
The heart affianced sister of our loveH
