To A Painter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABABBCDEFEDF

All praise the Likeness by thy skill portrayedA
But 'tis a fruitless task to paint for meB
Who yielding not to changes Time has madeA
By the habitual light of memory seeB
Eyes unbedimmed see bloom that cannot fadeA
And smiles that from their birth place ne'er shall fleeB
Into the land where ghosts and phantoms beB
And seeing this own nothing in its steadC
Couldst thou go back into far distant yearsD
Or share with me fond thought that inward eyeE
Then and then only Painter could thy ArtF
The visual powers of Nature satisfyE
Which hold whate'er to common sight appearsD
Their sovereign empire in a faithful heartF
