Though The Bold Wings Of Poesy Affect Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACACACA

Though the bold wings of Poesy affectA
The clouds and wheel around the mountain topsB
Rejoicing from her loftiest height she dropsB
Well pleased to skim the plain with wild flowers decktA
Or muse in solemn grove whose shades protectA
The lingering dew there steals along or stopsB
Watching the least small bird that round her hopsB
Or creeping worm with sensitive respectA
Her functions are they therefore less divineC
Her thoughts less deep or void of grave intentA
Her simplest fancies Should that fear be thineC
Aspiring Votary ere thy hand presentA
One offering kneel before her modest shrineC
With brow in penitential sorrow bentA
