The Power Of Armies Is A Visible Thing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCCD

The power of Armies is a visible thingA
Formal and circumscribed in time and spaceB
But who the limits of that power shall traceB
Which a brave People into light can bringA
Or hide at will for freedom combatingA
By just revenge inflamed No foot may chaseB
No eye can follow to a fatal placeB
That power that spirit whether on the wingA
Like the strong wind or sleeping like the windC
Within its awful caves From year to yearD
Springs this indigenous produce far and nearD
No craft this subtle element can bindC
Rising like water from the soil to findC
In every nook a lip that it may cheerD
