The Massy Ways, Carried Across These Heights Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKKLKKMNLOJ DK

The massy Ways carried across these heightsA
By Roman perseverance are destroyedB
Or hidden under ground like sleeping wormsC
How venture then to hope that Time will spareD
This humble Walk Yet on the mountain's sideE
A Poet's hand first shaped it and the stepsF
Of that same Bard repeated to and froG
At morn at noon and under moonlight skiesH
Through the vicissitudes of many a yearI
Forbade the weeds to creep o'er its grey lineJ
No longer scattering to the heedless windsK
The vocal raptures of fresh poesyK
Shall he frequent these precincts locked no moreL
In earnest converse with beloved FriendsK
Here will he gather stores of ready blissK
As from the beds and borders of a gardenM
Choice flowers are gathered But if Power may springN
Out of a farewell yearning favoured moreL
Than kindred wishes mated suitablyO
With vain regrets the Exile would consignJ
This Walk his loved possession to the careD
Of those pure Minds that reverence the MuseK
