The Earl Of Breadalbane's Ruined Mansion And Family Burial-place, Near Killin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBABABACAACAA

Well sang the Bard who called the grave in strainsA
Thoughtful and sad the narrow house No styleB
Of fond sepulchral flattery can beguileB
Grief of her sting nor cheat where he detainsA
The sleeping dust stern Death How reconcileB
With truth or with each other decked remainsA
Of a once warm Abode and that 'new' PileB
For the departed built with curious painsA
And mausolean pomp Yet here they standC
Together 'mid trim walks and artful bowersA
To be looked down upon by ancient hillsA
That for the living and the dead demandC
And prompt a harmony of genuine powersA
Concord that elevates the mind and stillsA
