Stray Pleasures Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDB EEFGHF IJKLBK MMNOO BBPQQP RRSTUS

BY their floating millA
That lies dead and stillA
Behold yon Prisoners threeB
The Miller with two Dames on the breast of the ThamesC
The platform is small but gives room for them allD
And they're dancing merrilyB
-
From the shore come the notesE
To their mill where it floatsE
To their house and their mill tethered fastF
To the small wooden isle where their work to beguileG
They from morning to even take whatever is givenH
And many a blithe day they have pastF
-
In sight of the spiresI
All alive with the firesJ
Of the sun going down to his restK
In the broad open eye of the solitary skyL
They dance there are three as jocund as freeB
While they dance on the calm river's breastK
-
Man and Maidens wheelM
They themselves make the reelM
And their music's a prey which they seizeN
It plays not for them what matter 'tis theirsO
And if they had care it has scattered their caresO
While they dance crying 'Long as ye please '-
-
They dance not for meB
Yet mine is their gleeB
Thus pleasure is spread through the earthP
In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall findQ
Thus a rich loving kindness redundantly kindQ
Moves all nature to gladness and mirthP
-
The showers of the springR
Rouse the birds and they singR
If the wind do but stir for his proper delightS
Each leaf that and this his neighbour will kissT
Each wave one and t' other speeds after his brotherU
They are happy for that is their rightS
