Song Of The Wandering Jew Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF CGCG CHCH IJJJ KLKL

Though the torrents from their fountainsA
Roar down many a craggy steepB
Yet they find among the mountainsA
Resting places calm and deepB
-
Clouds that love through air to hastenC
Ere the storm its fury stillsD
Helmet like themselves will fastenC
On the heads of towering hillsD
-
What if through the frozen centreE
Of the Alps the Chamois boundF
Yet he has a home to enterE
In some nook of chosen groundF
-
And the Sea horse though the oceanC
Yield him no domestic caveG
Slumbers without sense of motionC
Couched upon the rocking waveG
-
If on windy days the RavenC
Gambol like a dancing skiffH
Not the less she loves her havenC
In the bosom of the cliffH
-
The fleet Ostrich till day closesI
Vagrant over desert sandsJ
Brooding on her eggs reposesJ
When chill night that care demandsJ
-
Day and night my toils redoubleK
Never nearer to the goalL
Night and day I feel the troubleK
Of the Wanderer in my soulL
