September 1815 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBCDBBEDE

WHILE not a leaf seems faded while the fieldsA
With ripening harvest prodigally fairB
In brightest sunshine bask this nipping airB
Sent from some distant clime where Winter wieldsA
His icy scimitar a foretaste yieldsA
Of bitter change and bids the flowers bewareB
And whispers to the silent birds 'PrepareB
Against the threatening foe your trustiest shields 'C
For me who under kindlier laws belongD
To Nature's tuneful quire this rustling dryB
Through leaves yet green and yon crystalline skyB
Announce a season potent to renewE
'Mid frost and snow the instinctive joys of songD
And nobler cares than listless summer knewE
