Say, What Is Honour?---tis The Finest Sense Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEEDED

SAY what is Honour 'Tis the finest senseA
Of 'justice' which the human mind can frameB
Intent each lurking frailty to disclaimB
And guard the way of life from all offenceA
Suffered or done When lawless violenceA
Invades a Realm so pressed that in the scaleC
Of perilous war her weightiest armies failC
Honour is hopeful elevation whenceA
Glory and triumph Yet with politic skillD
Endangered States may yield to terms unjustE
Stoop their proud heads but not unto the dustE
A Foe's most favourite purpose to fulfilD
Happy occasions oft by self mistrustE
Are forfeited but infamy doth killD
