Proud Were Ye, Mountains, When, In Times Of Old Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCACACADEEDED

Proud were ye Mountains when in times of oldA
Your patriot sons to stem invasive warB
Intrenched your brows ye gloried in each scarC
Now for your shame a Power the Thirst of GoldA
That rules o'er Britain like a baneful starC
Wills that your peace your beauty shall be soldA
And clear way made for her triumphal carC
Through the beloved retreats your arms enfoldA
Heard Ye that Whistle As her long linked TrainD
Swept onwards did the vision cross your viewE
Yes ye were startled and in balance trueE
Weighing the mischief with the promised gainD
Mountains and Vales and Floods I call on youE
To share the passion of a just disdainD
