Oxford, May 30, 1820 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEDFEF

Shame on this faithless heart that could allowA
Such transport though but for a moment's spaceB
Not while to aid the spirit of the placeB
The crescent moon clove with its glittering prowA
The clouds or night bird sang from shady boughA
But in plain daylight She too at my sideC
Who with her heart's experience satisfiedC
Maintains inviolate its slightest vowA
Sweet Fancy other gifts must I receiveD
Proofs of a higher sovereignty I claimE
Take from 'her' brow the withering flowers of eveD
And to that brow life's morning wreath restoreF
Let 'her' be comprehended in the frameE
Of these illusions or they please no moreF
