On The Frith Of Clyde - In A Steamboat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDDDD

Arran a single crested TeneriffeA
A St Helena next in shape and hueB
Varying her crowded peaks and ridges blueB
Who but must covet a cloud seat or skiffA
Built for the air or winged HippogriffA
That he might fly where no one could pursueB
From this dull Monster and her sooty crewB
And as a God light on thy topmost cliffA
Impotent wish which reason would despiseC
If the mind knew no union of extremesD
No natural bond between the boldest schemesD
Ambition frames and heart humilitiesD
Beneath stern mountains many a soft vale liesD
And lofty springs give birth to lowly streamsD
