On Entering Douglas Bay, Isle Of Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACDAEFEGHI

The feudal Keep the bastions of CohornA
Even when they rose to check or to repelB
Tides of aggressive war oft served as wellB
Greedy ambition armed to treat with scornA
Just limits but yon Tower whose smiles adornA
This perilous bay stands clear of all offenseC
Blest work it is of love and innocenceD
A Tower of refuge built for the else forlornA
Spare it ye waves and lift the marinerE
Struggling for life into its saving armsF
Spare too the human helpers Do they stirE
'Mid your fierce shock like men afraid to dieG
No their dread service nerves the heart it warmsH
And they are led by noble HillaryI
