October, 1803 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBACCADCEFFE

These times strike monied worldlings with dismayA
Even rich men brave by nature taint the airB
With words of apprehension and despairB
While tens of thousands thinking on the affrayB
Men unto whom sufficient for the dayA
And minds not stinted or untilled are givenC
Sound healthy children of the God of heavenC
Are cheerful as the rising sun in MayA
What do we gather hence but firmer faithD
That every gift of noble originC
Is breathed upon by Hope's perpetual breathE
That virtue and the faculties withinF
Are vital and that riches are akinF
To fear to change to cowardice and deathE
