November, 1806 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCADEDEDE

Another year another deadly blowA
Another mighty Empire overthrownB
And We are left or shall be left aloneB
The last that dare to struggle with the FoeA
'Tis well from this day forward we shall knowA
That in ourselves our safety must be soughtC
That by our own right hands it must be wroughtC
That we must stand unpropped or be laid lowA
O dastard whom such foretaste doth not cheerD
We shall exult if they who rule the landE
Be men who hold its many blessings dearD
Wise upright valiant not a servile bandE
Who are to judge of danger which they fearD
And honour which they do not understandE
