June 1820 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCED

Fame tells of groves from England far awayA
Groves that inspire the Nightingale to trillB
And modulate with subtle reach of skillB
Elsewhere unmatched her ever varying layA
Such bold report I venture to gainsayA
For I have heard the quire of Richmond hillB
Chanting with indefatigable billB
Strains that recalled to mind a distant dayA
When haply under shade of that same woodC
And scarcely conscious of the dashing oarsD
Plied steadily between those willowy shoresD
The sweet souled Poet of the Seasons stoodC
Listening and listening long in rapturous moodE
Ye heavenly Birds to your ProgenitorsD
