It Is A Beauteous Evening Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCDEFGHGI

It is a beauteous evening calm and freeA
The holy time is quiet as a nunB
Breathless with adoration the broad sunB
Is sinking down in its tranquilityA
The gentleness of heaven broods o'er the seaA
Listen the mighty Being is awakeC
And doth with his eternal motion makeC
A sound like thunder everlastinglyD
Dear Child dear Girl that walkest with me hereE
If thou appear untouched by solemn thoughtF
Thy nature is not therefore less divineG
Thou liest in Abraham's bosom all the yearH
And worship'st at the Temple's inner shrineG
God being with thee when we know it notI
