Inside Of King's College Chapel, Cambridge Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDAEFFGEH

Tax not the royal Saint with vain expenseA
With ill matched aims the Architect who plannedB
Albeit labouring for a scanty bandB
Of white robed Scholars only this immenseA
And glorious Work of fine intelligenceC
Give all thou canst high Heaven rejects the loreD
Of nicely calculated less or moreD
So deemed the man who fashioned for the senseA
These lofty pillars spread that branching roofE
Self poised and scooped into ten thousand cellsF
Where light and shade repose where music dwellsF
Lingering and wandering on as loth to dieG
Like thoughts whose very sweetness yieldeth proofE
That they were born for immortalityH
