In The Frith Of Clyde, Ailsa Crag - During An Eclipse Of The Sun, July 17 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDCAEFEFGG

Since risen from ocean ocean to defyA
Appeared the crag of Ailsa ne'er did mornB
With gleaming lights more gracefully adornB
His sides or wreathe with mist his forehead highA
Now faintly darkening with the sun's eclipseC
Still is he seen in lone sublimityD
Towering above the sea and little shipsC
For dwarfs the tallest seem while sailing byA
Each for her haven with her freight of CareE
Pleasure or Grief and Toil that seldom looksF
Into the secret of to morrow's fareE
Though poor yet rich without the wealth of booksF
Or aught that watchful Love to Nature owesG
For her mute Powers fixed Forms or transient ShowsG
