If Thou Indeed Derive Thy Light From Heaven Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGAHIJKLMDD

If thou indeed derive thy light from HeavenA
Then to the measure of that heaven born lightB
Shine Poet in thy place and be contentC
The stars pre eminent in magnitudeD
And they that from the zenith dart their beamsE
Visible though they be to half the earthF
Though half a sphere be conscious of their brightnessG
Are yet of no diviner originA
No purer essence than the one that burnsH
Like an untended watch fire on the ridgeI
Of some dark mountain or than those which seemJ
Humbly to hang like twinkling winter lampsK
Among the branches of the leafless treesL
All are the undying offspring of one SireM
Then to the measure of the light vouchsafedD
Shine Poet in thy place and be contentD
