I Heard (alas! 'twas Only In A Dream) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCEEC

I heard alas 'twas only in a dreamA
Strains which as sage Antiquity believedB
By waking ears have sometimes been receivedB
Wafted adown the wind from lake or streamA
A most melodious requiem a supremeA
And perfect harmony of notes achievedB
By a fair Swan on drowsy billows heavedB
O'er which her pinions shed a silver gleamA
For is she not the votary of ApolloC
And knows she not singing as he inspiresD
That bliss awaits her which the ungenial HollowC
Of the dull earth partakes not nor desiresE
Mount tuneful Bird and join the immortal quiresE
She soared and I awoke struggling in vain to followC
