Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQNRN STUVWXForth from a jutting ridge around whose base | A |
Winds our deep Vale two heath clad Rocks ascend | B |
In fellowship the loftiest of the pair | C |
Rising to no ambitious height yet both | D |
O'er lake and stream mountain and flowery mead | E |
Unfolding prospects fair as human eyes | F |
Ever beheld Up led with mutual help | G |
To one or other brow of those twin Peaks | H |
Were two adventurous Sisters wont to climb | I |
And took no note of the hour while thence they gazed | J |
The blooming heath their couch gazed side by side | K |
In speechless admiration I a witness | L |
And frequent sharer of their calm delight | M |
With thankful heart to either Eminence | N |
Gave the baptismal name each Sister bore | O |
Now are they parted far as Death's cold hand | P |
Hath power to part the Spirits of those who love | Q |
As they did love Ye kindred Pinnacles | N |
That while the generations of mankind | R |
Follow each other to their hiding place | N |
In time's abyss are privileged to endure | S |
Beautiful in yourselves and richly graced | T |
With like command of beauty grant your aid | U |
For Mary's humble Sarah's silent claim | V |
That their pure joy in nature may survive | W |
From age to age in blended memory | X |
