Floating Island Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH EJKJ LMNO PQRQ HSTS

Harmonious Powers with Nature workA
On sky earth river lake and seaB
Sunshine and cloud whirlwind and breezeC
All in one duteous task agreeB
-
Once did I see a slip of earthD
By throbbing waves long underminedE
Loosed from its hold how no one knewF
But all might see it float obedient to the windE
-
Might see it from the mossy shoreG
Dissevered float upon the LakeH
Float with its crest of trees adornedI
On which the warbling birds their pastime takeH
-
Food shelter safety there they findE
There berries ripen flowerets bloomJ
There insects live their lives and dieK
A peopled world it is in size a tiny roomJ
-
And thus through many seasons' spaceL
This little Island may surviveM
But Nature though we mark her notN
Will take away may cease to giveO
-
Perchance when you are wandering forthP
Upon some vacant sunny dayQ
Without an object hope or fearR
Thither your eyes may turn the Isle is passed awayQ
-
Buried beneath the glittering LakeH
Its place no longer to be foundS
Yet the lost fragments shall remainT
To fertilize some other groundS
